1.Application and properties

Suitable for sealing of medium and high pressure cylinders, installed behind the sealing element (U-cup seal) to prevent the sealing element from being squeezed out. The sealing element with the installed retaining ring generally has a pressure-bearing capacity increased by 10-30MPa compared to the sealing element without a retaining ring. It has high performance and cost-effectiveness ratio and has been widely used.

2.Standard material

Filled PTFE / PA / POM / PU / Rubber, etc. are all commonly used materials for retaining rings.

Select according to actual working conditions.

Generally, U-shaped rings use filled with (PTFE), filled PA or POM as retaining rings.

4. Marking method:

Mark it with the dimension of installation as below, for split piston seals and rod seals：

Piston seals: “BRT” Outer diameter×Inner diameter×Thickness

For example: BRT80×70×2.5 means “Back-up ring for piston seals, Outer Dia. 80, Inner Dia. 70, Thickness 2.5”

Rod seals: “BRT” Inner diameter×Outer diameter×Thickness

For example: BRT220×224×2 means “Back-up ring for rod seals, Outer Dia. 224, Inner Dia. 220, Thickness 2.0”
